Marriage & Couples Counseling

Stuck in the same arguments? Feeling more like roommates than partners?

Every relationship goes through hard seasons. Marriage and couples counseling at Trinity Care of Ohio gives you and your partner a safe, neutral place to slow down, understand each other again, and learn practical ways to communicate, rebuild trust, and work as a team. We see couples at our Perrysburg and Sylvania offices, and virtually for couples living in Ohio, Michigan, or Nevada.

Whether you have been together two years or twenty, it is never too early or too late to get help. Some couples come to strengthen a good relationship, some come after a crisis, and some come to decide whether to stay together.

How marriage and couples counseling can help:

  1. Better Communication: Learn to talk about hard topics without blame, truly listen, and feel heard in return.
  2. Healthier Conflict: Understand the patterns behind recurring fights and practice new ways to handle disagreements before they escalate.
  3. Rebuilding Trust: Work through hurt, betrayal, or broken promises with a structured, supportive process.
  4. Reconnection: Rediscover the friendship, affection, and shared goals that brought you together.
  5. Clarity About the Future: Whether you are strengthening your marriage, preparing for one, or deciding next steps, counseling helps you make thoughtful decisions together.

Common Reasons Couples Seek Counseling

Couples often reach out for help with constant conflict or shutting down, poor communication, infidelity or broken trust, feeling disconnected, parenting disagreements, blended-family stress, money, and big life changes like a new baby, a move, or retirement.

What to Expect

Your first session is a chance for you and your partner to share what brought you in and what you hope will change. Your therapist will help you set goals together and explain how sessions will work. Many couples meet weekly at first, then less often as things improve. Sessions are 55 minutes, in person or by secure video, with evening and weekend appointments available by request.

Insurance and Cost

We accept many insurance plans, including Anthem, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medical Mutual, Medicare, CareSource, Paramount, Optum, UnitedHealthcare, and UMR, and we take care of the insurance paperwork for you. Coverage for couples counseling varies by plan, so we recommend calling your member services number to confirm. Self-pay sessions are also available. See our full list of accepted insurance and fees.
